Reclaim the Night is an annual event which seeks to raise awareness about violence against women. It’s about women reminding ourselves and the world that we have the right to live our lives free from violence – in our homes, at work, at school, when we go out at night.

In 2007, we met on the steps of Parliament House. We had an (autonomous) march through the city followed by a gathering at Trades Hall which everyone was welcome to attend. The evening was a huge success. Thankyou to the wonderful women in the RTN organising committee, the performers, everyone who was willing to lend a hand, and most importantly to those who came to show their support for a world free of violence against women. We hope that 2008 will see an even bigger and better event so start spreading the word!
