Review: The Zombie State

Posted Thu Sep 25, 04:33 PM in blog

…the seamless meshing together of the whole cast in creating a unified, horrific vision of Melbourne was an example of a great zomsemble performance. prepare to be unsettled, challenged and visually stunned.

Prepare to partake in a dark, edgy, unified vision of the real underbelly of Melbourne – not the crims, but the people whose undervalued labour keeps the city ticking over. You never know, one day they might just turn into Zombies, and insist on negotiating new EBAs, where ‘E’ stands for ‘eating’, and ‘B’ stands for, well, you know.

Trinity-The Producers

Review: The Producers

Posted Mon Sep 15, 10:40 AM in blog

The over all result for Trinity College Music Theatre Society was an evening of fun and like the unexpected success of Bialystock and Bloom’s play, Spring Time For Hitler, The Producers too was a huge success and a credit to everyone involved in it.

Imaginary Invalid

Review: The Imaginary Invalid

Posted Mon Sep 8, 03:38 PM in blog

Ambitiously directed by Ben Landau for Queen’s College Music and Drama Society, this darkly satirical reinvention successfully updated the play for a contemporary audience… With farce it is often difficult to maintain a consistently high level of comedic energy and to the credit of the cast; they kept it at a maximum for most of the performance…

THe Passionfruit of the Christ

Review: The Passionfruit of the Christ

Posted Mon Sep 8, 03:30 PM in blog

The Med Revue was a fantastic opportunity for everyone involved, be it cast or audience, to relax and laugh at the absurdities on stage. The students involved clearly loved what they were doing, which was heart-warming to see. Their fun was our fun, ten times over.

…If you love music and the theatre, if you’re willing to be moved, go along and allow yourself to be absorbed into this magnificent production. Dinner by Moira Buffini

Review: Dinner

Posted Mon Aug 11, 11:46 AM in blog

Moira Buffini’s biting critique of upper class snobbery and superficiality presented in the ideal atmosphere of comfort and menace of Janet Clarke Hall. The conversation is littered with satirical and ironic comment about the upper-class and their self-obsessed morality… revealed skilfully through Buffini’s excellent use of language.

Review: City of Angels
