January 11-22 2010

The MU Student Union Ltd. VCE Summer School has been held annually since 1971 as a full-time academic program for Year 11 and 12 students from Victoria. The program is designed to provide students from a range of disadvantaged schools and backgrounds with an inspiring and practical introduction to their VCE years, both academically and personally.

Summer School is a comprehensive, full time two-week program held in January and is comprised of both academic and non-academic components. Students are offered classes, seminars, workshops, practical demonstrations, excursions and one-on-one tutorials in their various VCE subjects. For each subject students are given detailed student materials outlining the requirements of the subject as well as practical study hints and examples. Numerous interactive workshops are conducted throughout the program, providing students with information on study skills exam techniques, stress management, time management etc. Students are encouraged to participate in forums, which explore relevant issues, ranging from the environment to sexuality. An exciting range of social activities is also organised by volunteer tutors to promote the creation of vital support networks amongst the students.
