Overseas Student Ambassadors’ Program

Do you feel that your life as a tertiary student only constitutes assignments, tutorials and lectures? Do you want to expand your social network as well as the horizon in your Melbourne Experience? Are you interested in gaining some exposure in leadership roles and event/project management? If your answer is ‘yes’ for any of the questions above, the Melbourne University Overseas Students’ Service would like to invite you to register in our Overseas Student Ambassadors (OSA) program.

What is Overseas Student Ambassadors’ Program?

Overseas Student Ambassadors’ Program is an integrated volunteering program that aims to build a community of students outside of classrooms while engaging them with volunteering and leadership opportunities. Successful applicants of Overseas Student Ambassadors’ Program will have the chance to volunteer for Melbourne University events/projects such as Night Market, Orientation, Bookfest, Meet the Aussies and other media/publications. Furthermore, Overseas Student Ambassadors will be given the option to participate in the organising committee of MUOSS’s events! In return, several social activities and benefits will be catered for Overseas Student Ambassadors as a token of appreciation for their contributions. At the end of the term, each Overseas Student Ambassadors will also receive a certificate of recognition.

Requirements for the Overseas Student Ambassadors Program.

All applicants must be a student of the University of Melbourne. The First Semester 2008 Overseas Student Ambassadors Program will commence on the Week 4 the semester until the Week 4 of the following semester. Hence, all applicants must be enrolled as a student and able to commit throughout the entire period.

How to sign-up to be an Overseas Student Ambassadors?

Registration of Overseas Student Ambassadors for First Semester 2008 will commence during Week One of first semester. Please visit the Melbourne University Overseas Students’ Service Office on the first floor of Union House to obtain a copy of the application form.
