Welcome

Welcome to the Melbourne University Overseas Students Service (MUOSS) website, the peak representative body for all international students in Melbourne University. Our aim is to promote international students’ welfare and enrich their experience in Melbourne University.

We offer various orientation activities to help new students meet new people, in addition to our two main multicultural festivals, the Night Market and Festival of Nations, and also various events through out the whole semester!

But we are also about representation and not just fun and games. If you face any problems in the University, or feel that there are areas which can be improved in the University, drop us an email and share your ideas and opinions with us. We will use your feedback to give suggestions to the University to further improve their services.

Alternatively, just drop in at our Overseas Students Lounge on the second floor of the Union House to speak to one of us. We will be more than happy to help you.

Serving international students,

Jey Sern Choo
President of MUOSS 2007-2008

What is the Melbourne University Overseas Students Service

The Melbourne University Overseas Students Service is one of the largest international student organisations in Australia and is a department of the Student Union. It is the official representative body for all overseas students at the University of Melbourne, including postgraduate, undergraduate, study abroad and exchange students.

Externally, the Melbourne University Overseas Students Service is affiliated to the National Liaison Committee for International Students (NLC).

The MUOSS team consists of five executive committee members, five directors and eight officers, all of whom collectively make up the MUOSS Central Committee. All 18 office bearers have voting rights in committee meetings and are elected into the positions as international student representatives during elections.

MUOSS also has several Co-Opted Activities Officers and various sub-committees, as well as a network of volunteers.

To assist the office bearers and attend to daily administration, MUOSS employ a part-time Administrative Officer.
