Georgia Fair’s easy-going, melodic touch belies their young years. It may be a relaxed, gentle listen, but there’s nothing lightweight about the songwriting, from cruisey Sunday afternoon singalongs to introspective acoustic folk, Georgia Fair are surely not to be missed.
Dress up in your nicest clothes, practice saying phrases like ‘Oh darling, this is just divine’ and ‘I need to introduce you to my stockbroker’ and then smooth the night away sipping on delectable concoctions.
One would think that a trivia night for students at the University of Melbourne would be a classy affair, complete with tailored suits, chardonnay and volumes of encyclopedia. But let’s face it, one would probably be wrong; so book a table, bring your brainiest friends and get ready for a fun old time!
Register your band or go out and form a band, all you need is one Melbourne University student as a major participating band member to enter. Application forms available now at the Information Centre, ground floor, Union House. Entries close 5pm Friday 18 May.
Making people laugh (even if you don’t mean to) is a precious gift, and this is your chance to put that special ability to good use. We give you a microphone and a room full of people, and you do your best to get them chuckling and laughing. Entries close 5pm Friday 4 May.
