do it famously began as a discussion between artists Christian Boltanski and Bertrand Lavier, and writer and curator Hans Ulrich Obrist, in 1993 in Paris. Since then do it has been staged in over 45 major museums around the world. The 2009 ‘do it’ takes its instructions from philosophers.
