If you’re starting at Melbourne this year and have a keen writerly, journalistic, comic, poetic or artistic bent, it’s time to get excited. We, your Media peeps, have got a helluva week lined up.

Tuesday, Thursday and Friday we’ll be hanging out at our stall on South Court and handing out copies of our special O-Week edition of Farrago. Come grab one, have a squiz and ask us about getting involved.

If you’re feeling more hands-on, there’ll be easy and fun activities to have a go at. Guaranteed goodies include having a play with the digital video camera to knock together some vox pops for this very website, or for the more aesthetically-inclined, designing/making your own badges.

If, on the other hand, you’re busting to see where the magic is made, come and visit the Media Office! We live with some shiny white computers at the end of the left hand corridor in the Student Representative Space, 1st Floor, Union House. This is where you can come anytime during the year to talk about article ideas, express interest in the graphics team or ask for help with your own student media projects.

Lastly and most delightfully, the Media Department is proud to be hosting Farragoparty.
When? Friday 27th of Feb, 8pm
Where? Naughton’s Hotel, 43 Royal Parade. Just across the road from Uni, opposite the colleges. We've got the whole back area to ourselves.
Doubling as a launch for the O-Week edition, this will be a chance to have a drink and a chat to us, our super-fine subeditors and contributors, as well as make friends with other media-loving newbies. Huzzah!

We’ll be taking down email addresses of anyone who wants to join the Media Collective mailing list all week, so make sure you’re part of the action.
