Farrago was first published as the independent voice for students at the University of Melbourne in 1925. Its content is written entirely by students under the direction of the editorial team. In 2009 this elected team consists of Gillian Kilby, Bhakthi Puvanenthiran, Zoe Sanders and Yoshua Wakeham.
Gillian is a compulsive hoarder of identical fine-tipped black pens and has an overactive laughter gland that secretes more giggles than is generally tolerable. Bhakthi is an average media junkie who is renowned for her ability to read the Guardian online, watch SBS World News and listen to both 774 Local Radio and Triple J simultaneously. Zoe comes equipped with a plethora of depraved jokes, humourous anecdotes and an unshakable faith in her own comedic abilities. Yoshua may break out into tuneless songs on the way home from the train station, spends long hours doing almost literally nothing on the internet and defends semi-colons to anyone who comes too near. Overall, Farrago is fun, inclusive and independent.
