To University of Melbourne Students,

I would like to apologise unreservedly for my conduct on Tuesday 8 September, 2009. It is never appropriate to yell at or abuse others because of disagreements over policy and politics. The elections should be a time where students can exercise their democratic rights regarding their Student Union, which should not be disrupted by intimidatory behaviour.

In engaging in the inappropriate behaviours which were the cause of my being banned from the elections I have let down the student body, my political allies and unjustly treated my political opponents. Even though I disagree with their policies and actions, other groups and individuals retain the right to try and convey their message to the electorate.

For my conduct and the negative ramifications which have arisen from it, I am sorry.

Yours Sincerely,
David Liubinas
