On May 12th, students will stage a protest outside a meeting of Melbourne University Council, the governing board of the University. The University’s administration is not listening to our concerns so we need to go straight to the top!

Meet us at 2.30pm on the Concrete Union Lawns to speak out against the cuts to staff & subjects in the Arts Faculty. Before the University Council meets we’ll move to protest outside the meeting & show how much we disapprove of the University’s approach to Humanities.

This protest continues UMSU’s campaign to Save Arts- we will demand that the University Council make efforts to fully fund the Arts Faculty, through increased funding and cross-subsidisation. We will also demand that the Council direct the Vice-Chancellor to lobby the government for more funding for higher education.
