Christian Union
Christian Union is a group of Christians on campus, from lots of different types of churches, dedicated to knowing and obeying Jesus Christ and making him known. We exist for Christians who want to understand and live out their faith in Jesus in a more mature way AND for people who aren’t Christians who want to check out Jesus’ claims without being hassled or pressured. We believe that by trusting Jesus we are given a relationship with God, forgiveness for our sins, and a new life with which to serve Jesus.
Weekly public meetings are held at 1pm on Tuesday. At these we meet as a large group where a Bible-based talk is given. We also run a number of small Bible study groups. Apart from these regular activities we also run other events such as dinners, outdoor sports and recreation, video nights and other social events. Each year there are about four camps, of which the biggest is the mid-year conference – Summit. So read the chalking, come along, and check out what we’re made of – we don’t bite!

The aims of our club are to:
- Create awareness of Islam on campus

- And last but not least, help create a lasting bond of brotherhood and sisterhood amongst Muslims

We have a large collection of books, leaflets and tapes in our library, as well as free literature for distribution. The UMIS letter and email list provide avenues for the members to keep up to date with relevant issues and upcoming events. Depending on demand, we hold talks and study circles, which are a good way to learn and to get to know each other.
Depending on your involvement and enthusiasm, we organize various activities throughout the year.
Educational: Islamic classes are conducted and talks are organised. Specific classes such as Arabic are offered depending on interest and availability.
Social: Activities such as sports, trips, lunches, intervarsity quizzes are also held.
Keep an eye out on the notice boards and Eyeball for upcoming events and activities. Also don’t forget to join the mailing list.

Jewish Students Society
Melbourne University Jewish Students Society (MUJSS) was established in the early 1900s as a representative body of Jewish students at the University of Melbourne. At the time it was the first Jewish student representative body in the country! Since then it has worked tirelessly to protect the rights of Jewish students on the campus and abroad. In addition, fundamental to the aims of MUJSS is the advocacy of the existence of the State of Israel- an imbedded component in Jewish consciousness.
Today, MUJSS has over 200 members both Jewish and non-Jewish that play an active role in the club. As a democratically elected and run organization, MUJSS endeavours to fairly represent all of its members. The current committee is determined to actively promote the right of existence of the State of Israel and to increase awareness of Jewish rights on the campus (including the increasing overt anti-Semitic rhetoric on campus). Moreover, the committee aims to advocate a peaceful resolution to the Middle East conflict.
Committee members comprise of individuals with a range of political views; all members are encouraged to voice their opinions regardless of their political views.
Why join MUJSS?
MUJSS is a democratic society on campus open to any student at Melbourne University who wants to become a member.
If you answer yes to 1 or more of these questions, MUJSS may be for you…
- Do you stand in principle for the ideals of democracy, peace and equality?
- Do you believe in freedom of speech and have respect for other’s beliefs?.
- Do you disagree with anti-Semitism and racism in general?.
- Are you interested in the Jewish culture and meeting students of Jewish faith on campus?.
- Are you interested to learn why the State of Israel is so important to the Jewish people?

Overseas Christian Fellowship
What is Overseas Christian Fellowship (OCF)?
O is for Overseas:
We exist for the international student population at the University of Melbourne. By international, we mean that everyone is welcome to join us even if you are a local student.
C is for Christian:
We are a Christian organization, meaning that we believe in Jesus Christ and in His Word. However this does not mean that we are an organization for Christians only. On the contrary, we welcome everyone because we believe in sharing our lives with people.
F is for Fellowship:
We are a fellowship, meaning that we gather together as a community each week. As most of us are international students who are away from our families and loved ones, we come together to support one another, to encourage one another, especially in times of need.
That is why we’re here. We come together to know God and to know one another. We want to share our Message of hope, love and acceptance with you. So we invite you to join us.
Even if you do not intend to come, do drop us an email if you wish to talk to someone, or if you would like someone to pray for and with you. We’re always more than willing to support you.
God bless and have a great day!
When do we meet?
7pm Fridays at North Dining Hall, Union House (except on special occasions)

Student Life (Disciplemakers)
We’re no ordinary club. We’re a network of students and missionaries on thousands of uni campuses in Australia and around the world; a global movement for the world’s culturally diverse students. Facilitating spiritual awareness on campus by introducing students to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, providing students opportunities to grow in that relationship, and training them to help reach others is what we major in.
Although we each have different experiences and interests, we all share two things in common: We love to have a good time and hang out with each other, and we are convinced that our personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the most fulfilling thing in the world.
Are you investigating a relationship with God for the first time? Or are you just looking for a place to deepen that relationship? If so, we welcome you to check out the hype for yourself. Maybe you too will discover the lasting enjoyment that we are all ranting and raving about.
Club Purpose
Our club focuses on the development of world-changing Christians through discipleship. Jesus spent less than 3 years with His small group of men, and developed world-changing leaders. These leaders learned and taught others how to walk by faith, communicate their faith, and multiply their faith. Walk, Communicate, Multiply.
